Hey Jeter, whadayoulooginat!?
So my dad is a Yankees fan. I know, right?
These photos are for you dad. Great series this weekend (cough). Hey, I just realized the Sox are on an eleven game winning streak! Pretty cool.
Now I know what you're going to say..."It's early, just wait..." but no, YOU wait! How did that work out for you last season! hahahahahaah (let's go fishing soon)

Lester Shoot
Today I shot some portraits of pitcher Jon Lester for the next edition of Red Sox Magazine. I probably should have ate more than just a banana before hand because I felt like I was going to pass out right after (85 degrees in May?!).
This shot most likely will go inside as part of the story, but it is my favorite from the shoot.

First walk-off of '09
Wow. What a night!
I have a spot in Fenway Park where I like to go when there is a chance of a walk-off home run. It's high up in the left field corner and it looks down the third base line towards home. Last year I was frustrated on a number of occasions when the walk off turned out the be a single, or none at all, and I spend a lot of innings up there waiting for nothing.
It's all good. Tonight makes me one for one in '09 from that spot and puts the Sox on a eight-game winning streak.
Damn. I'm so wired I'm not getting to sleep any time soon.

Expressions (OR The Roll Continues)
Here are a couple of shots from the day game from yesterday worth looking at.
First, take a look at Mike Lowell's expression after he belted a home run. Business as usual.
Next, have a look at this little fan who was sitting right behind the dugout (I took these photos ten seconds apart) This is all making me very happy.
Red Sox took two yesterday despite rain coming and going all day. It looks like they might do better than the seven of nine that I was predicting before the start of this home stand.

All is GOOD
Yesterday was another one of those pinch-yourself Boston sports days.
I spent the day watching the Sox dismantle the O's behind a solid start by Justin Masterson, one of my favorite (ie one of the nicest) players on the team. Then at night flipped between the Celtics and the Bruins both winners of first round playoff games. It is so exciting to have quality hockey back in Boston and as a UConn huskies fan I had a lot of fun watching Ray Allen and Ben Gordon go at it last night (with Ray's three winning it for the Celtics in the end).
As I was saying...life if good. Big Papi would agree with me (by the way, did I mention he hit a triple yesterday?)

Inaugural Post
This is the first in what I hope is an ongoing "online journal" of my experiences as the team photographer for the Boston Red Sox. I hope to share some of the more interesting outtakes from the job.
I'll start off with this image: We spent a whole afternoon setting up a mock locker room for Jason Bay in the visitor locker at City of Palms Park (the teams Spring Training home).
Bay, as it turns out, is a hell of nice guy.
I enjoyed the final result, and this image was selected as the cover of the first edition of Red Sox Magazine, the teams official program.
Enjoy!
